LIBRARY
Westbooks offers a variety of special services to public and community libraries. These includes processing books and non-books (i.e. audio books – CDs, DVDs, CD-ROMs, MP3s) so they are shelf ready; cataloguing; and the placement of standing orders.
Our friendly sales/library consultants are able to work with librarians to establish profiles on the needs of their library and community to ensure titles of interest to the library users are placed within the system.

Literature Range
Westbooks has access to adult and junior reading and audio materials for different literacy levels.
- Adult fiction and non-fiction, new release and back-listed titles.
- Junior fiction and non-fiction, new release and back-listed titles, junior kindy, board books and big books.
- Mulitmedia including audio books on CD, book and CD, DVDs,
- CD-ROMs and MP3s.
Processing/Shelf Ready Services
Westbooks has been providing shelf ready services for book and non- book materials, for delivery to school and public libraries, for over 10 years. Our processing services are of an exceptionally high standard:
- Quality, archival materials are used to ensure your collection is presented and maintained in an excellent condition.
- Books in hardback and paperback formats are prepared using PVC contact material, dust jackets and wallets depending on your requirements.
- Spine Reinforcement, Date Due Slips, Identification Stamps, Genre Labels, Dewey Spine labels with label protectors, Security Strips, Library Stickers, Barcode Stickers and Label Protectors can all be included according to your specifications.
- Non-book packaging and processing for audiocassettes, CDs, Videos, DVDs, CD-ROMs and MP3s
- Materials used are sourced from a variety of suppliers and, where possible, manufactured locally to ensure we maintain quality control.
- Processing services can be provided as a bundled price or invoiced on an itemised basis dependent on your library’s specific requirements.
Our local representative can meet with you to discuss your individual needs and/or you can view our processing services at our show-room/ warehouse in Victoria Park.
Cataloguing
Westbooks offers a full cataloguing service by qualified cataloguers, so that your books can be delivered shelf-ready, to your library specifications. We can provide original cataloguing in Dewey Classification in AACR2 at levels to suit your needs. Cataloguing can be tailored to your individual library requirements.

Standing Orders
Westbooks now offers to our school and public library customers standing orders for annual publications, author series, and titles in requested genre, publisher or subject area. To ensure we provide what you need in a timely manner, simply fill out our on-line ‘Standing Order Profile’. Alternatively one of our sales consultants can call in and complete the details on your behalf.
The early selection of orders ensures that these titles are available at the same time they appear in the local bookstores.
